2006 – April 30

30th Anniversary Stage FVVDI

TURIN (Italy)

The fundamental teaching of this Stage is the Tam Phap form of Voviet.
Obviously, unprecedented points are touched upon, linked to many aspects, both technical and otherwise, such as the ‘position’, which is decisive and therefore not to be neglected in a real fight, the ‘attack’ to be made in places where the adversary cannot see or when the adversary closes his eyelids, and the number of blows, which in cases of this type cannot be more than two. The teaching continues by addressing the topic of ‘Kiai’ and its mechanisms with anecdotes about the experiments conducted in Canada and the misadventure the GM had in Tunisia.
Grand Master Phan Hoang talks more about the 6 levels of ‘attack’ and in particular dwells on ‘Precision’, which exploits the tricks of concentration at the point of impact, the ‘Torsion’ of the blow, the ‘Direction’ performed at a 45 degree angle, all amplified by the ‘Jump’ to add the force of one’s own weight, and again the ‘Speed’ and the ‘Choice of Time’.
He addresses the topic of Methodology for writing quyens with particular reference to Structure, Energy, Meaning, Expressiveness and Spirituality.
